""Glassic"" The Full Restoration step by step 1973 Sea Swirl p-14 boat

Glad that mine will be starting in a better place (let's hope so) but a nice video and work of his results...

Plywood options

There are some nice products in the market that are very nice looking made of high quality wood to be used in boat applications (marine grade)

A popular choices for bow and interior coverage -
teak and holly                  or Mahogany

or  Teak                        or Douglas fir

All of these are available at supplier ike http://www.marine-plywood.us/mahogany_sapele.htm they are actually in northern Ohio and need to find a local supplier to save on shipping.

I should really build seats like this...

Maybe the donor boat should have seats similiar in style to this example.  A bench style seat, that is if I make it into a two cockpit wanna be woody boat.

like this color combination for the fiberglass boat restore

Looks to be a reasonably priced option for replacement seats for the fiberglass boat restore. These are available at boatseats.com.

Here we go...

I was wrong about being able to buy the donor for $600!   I actually paid $460 - but I will have a fuel bill for pick up that I will need to add on.  I also have a residual expense of purchasing and installing a hitch on the Jeep. This is something I have talked about doing for a while now. Guess this is about a $200, but will be very useful if I need to rent a trailer for project materials.
And by the way...for those of you wondering yes I sold the motorcycle....and I put even less miles on that one then I did my first :)

Restore project?

Restoration project boat & trailer?
might be able to buy it for $600?? think it would be a great cheap place to start a project and learn a little something in the process.  If nothing else, maybe it could be a donor of trailer, parts and motor for the future wood boat that I will build. hmmm

As I was browsing I ran across some other interesting looks of a Zip, full painted hull

A Zip controled from the rear...... this style would work for fishing.
 The same boat when painted

This is another interesting take on the zip....
painted on the sides and finished solid panel vs. planking

My plans and reference book arrived today! I will begin to study the plans and review the information.
